Memories!

As I walked through the grocery store, I ran across orange candy slices.  It immediately took me back to memories of my grandparents house in California and my Grandma's delicious orange candy cookies.  I quickly bought a bag full of candies and set out for home.  I pulled out her recipe (in her handwriting) and made a big plate full!  They turned out perfectly and the taste reminds me of all of the fun times we shared as a family.

The Tree!

At a recent shower, my dad gave me the most beautiful flowers covered in our fabrics.  The next thing to decide was how to hang them.  Thanks to some creative friends, family and internet searching we came up with a tree design that had shelves on the branches.  I love the results!  It is such a beautiful, one-of-a-kind piece of art!  Thank you dad for the amazing design and painting.  You are so talented!!!

The tree is on the back wall.  You can see it as you walk into the room.

Jam!

With the sun finally shining, we found some delicious berries to turn into jam.  My mom and I spent one afternoon making 36 jars of triple berry jam.  I spent the next night making 8 more jars of raspberry freezer jam.  It is a long standing tradition for our family to make jam each summer.  We commented frequently how much we missed making it with my sister and my grandma.  Look how beautiful the color is!  Got to love Oregon berries!

So Creative!

I am always so impressed by the creativity of others!  My friend Megan made these beautiful invitations for a baby shower.   Aren't they amazing!  She hand-sewed on the buttons and did the decorative stitching across the bottom.

This sweater was knit by my cousin, Sarah.  She taught herself how to knit and has become an expert!  I love the design and know our little girl will get a lot of use out of a beautiful sweater living in Oregon.

4th of July!

We were so fortunate to spend the long weekend in the Olympic National Park in Washington with the Wilsons, Elliotts, and Williams.  The weather could not have been better as we hiked Hurricane Ridge and saw incredible tide pools at Rialto Beach.  It was fun to laugh, eat, and enjoy all of God's creation!

Bathroom Update

Kyle has spent a lot of time giving our guest bathroom a new look!  I am so pleased with the results.  It will be nice to have drawers in the vanity for brushes, combs, and cute hair bows!
